Skipper is not only my first agility dog, but also the first dog who was really, truly, and honestly mine. He is my heart dog, and no one could ever take his place. He was born 02/09/99 in my mother's first litter. Since he grew too tall for show, Mom took him to Agility lessons. She really encouraged me to go with her, though at the time I wasn't very interested in agility because I was working with Chevy (Skipper's mother). Chevy never did like agility -- she would get so stressed out that she would bail from the contacts and nearly hurt herself. Rather than allowing this to continue, Mom asked me if I wanted to run Skipper instead. Skipper and I clicked, and the rest is history.

I moved Skipper's page to the retired page because I simply haven't built a page for performance dogs. However, he will still be competing in agility; I won't pull him out of the sport he loves unless it begins hurting him. Skipper has received his OA & AXJ titles, he has one out of ten legs toward his MXJ title, and he also has two MACH points as well.

Skipper does have CD (Obedience) and RE (Rally) titles, but I have retired him from any future Obedience/Rally competitions because the ring times almost always conflict with Conformation show times. Since I also show other dogs in Conformation, I have to forgo any Obedience competitions since Skipper would be my only competitor.

Some people don't understand the passion that Skipper and I have for Agility, but I hope that one day all dogs and their owners will be lucky enough to experience the exhilaration that comes with running an agility course. Just one look at the expression on Skipper's face proves that he's quite happy being my partner in a dance not every one can complete.
