Shaine was born on March 17, 2005, and was socialized in as many places as possible, from the neighborhood to dog shows. So far, Shaine has received two points toward his AKC championship: the first was under Mr. Vincent T. Grosso in Camden, Arkansas, on February 17, 2007, and the second was under Mr. Paul A. Thomann in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 9, 2009.

        Shaine also competes in Agility and already has one leg towards his NAJ title. I am also training Shaine in Herding with an instructor about two hours away from our home. Eventually, I hope to have Shaine ready for the Best All Around Sheltie (BAAS) Competition at the American Shetland Sheepdog Association (ASSA) Nationals in Tuscon, Arizona, in 2010. This is the biggest goal I have ever set, but my belief in Shaine's ability justifies my expectations.
